Women would rather look good on the outside than be healthy on the inside according to a new study.
The study conducted by the
health insurance provider,
Aviva, found that over 50 per cent of those who participated stated that they would prefer to have a slim and toned figure rather than have a healthy body with low cholesterol or low blood pressure.
Dr Doug Wright, head if clinical governance at
Aviva UK Health is urging women to improve their ways of thinking.
He said: "Just because you like what you see in the mirror today, does not mean that an unhealthy lifestyle isn't actually taking on its toll on your long term health."
"Although you may think that you look
healthy on the outside, it's what's inside that really counts," he added.
