Secure your valuables during recession

Homeowners are are being urged to take steps to ensure their valuables are secure after recent figures revealed that there has been a rise in the number of burglaries during the recession.
The figures from the Home Office revelaed that there has been a four per cent increase in the number of burglaries for the second consecutive quater with figures expected to rise further as more people struggle for cash during the financial downturn.
And with Halifax Home Insurance revealing that 29 per cent of burglaries last yead occured as a result of unlocked windows and doors, research found that some 22 per cent of homeowners are failing to enusre they protect their valuables by leaving windows and doors open.
Homeowners are now being urged to secure their property and valuables if they want to avoid having to file a claim on their insurance.
