Increasing cost in medical treatment aborad calls for travel insurance

Holidaymakers are being urged to take out travel insurance after recent figures found that the cost of medical treatment abroad is increasing.

Research from the insurance provider, Direct Line, revealed that the average claim for medical care abroad in 2008 was £678 - that's over £200 more than the cost of treatment in 2007 which was £427.

And with the cost of medical treatment rising, insurers are advising Brits to ensure they are covered in the event of the worst happening whilst abroad.
