I was just wondering if any of you use Live Writer for creating your posts?

I've heard good things about it. But since I haven't yet used it, I don't see how it benefits me. It's not like I'm struggling with WordPress or anything.

I would love to hear your take on this.

Hi Claudia--I haven't used Live Writer, but I've seen blogs published with it and I'm not really impressed. They aren't very attractive or clean-looking and don't give you the range of publishing options and layout you get with a Wordpress blog, especially if you're using a Wordpress installation. I'm using Typepad and actually wish that I'd started with Wordpress because of all the cool plug-ins. I say stay where you are.

I've heard good reports about Live Writer from experienced bloggers. You don't have to move your blog or anything like that, it's just another way to compose posts and then send them to your existing WordPress or whatever, like using Ecto or MarsEdit.

The advantage is that you can drag and drop pictures , links and text straight into the compose window, and move them around to make a magazine style layout perhaps. A bit more easily than the WordPress WYSIWYG editor anyway.

I don't use it because it's a WIndows program.
