I know that a lot of members of the community would love to get feedback on their blogs. I also know that a lot of people here would be willing to give that feedback. I'm setting up this forum to help people connect with one another specifically for a blog audit/review session.

If you're interested in offering your services as a blog reviewer, I'm going to suggest that you leave your name and an email link, along with the time period for when you're willing to do a review.

If you want someone to review your blog, leave your name, a link to your blog and the time frame for doing the review.

Hopefully we can start facilitating the connection process this way.

Yeah, I get that - my kind of humour is kinda dry too. The left paragraph at the bottom of my blog is an example of that.

In case you were wondering about the slogan line "It’s more complicated than 42", try Googling this exact phrase:
the answer to life, the universe and everything

Here's a more complete explanation.

I know that not everybody gets it, but that's just how my head works. Besides, the people who do get it know that only a certain percentage of the population would understand it, and so immediately feel a sense of belonging, or community.

Oh, and Talia should be pronounced t'lia.

Oh, I totally got the reference to 42. I LOVED the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy!

I am virtually a blogging virgin and am blogging on behalf of my employer, a recruitment company.

My aim is to provide a blog that will be beneficial to job seekers, thus developing the Meridian Business Support website as a comprehensive service for job seekers and not just another job vacancy list.

My blog is http://preparing4interview.blogspot.com/.

I welcome a review of my blog and also people's perceptions of business blogging in general.

Time frame: reply by 8th Feb 2008 please.

Thanks,

Chris J

Danielle,
A screencast is just a recording of your computer screen. I'm using Techsmith's Camtasia to record my first impressions of the blogs. I think it's a little closer to a live audit, since you get to hear what is getting my attention and see how I'm moving through a blog on a first visit.

It's also much faster for me than visiting then writing out feedback.

Screencast.com is Techsmith's site that is integrated with the software. It makes it a one click upload. Did I answer your question?

Hi Christine,

Sorry I took so long to reply.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review my blog. The screencast worked really well.

I acknowledge your point that a company of our size does not give the impression of commitment to blogging by using a free Blogger blog. Which blogging system would you recommend for business blogging?

Thank you for pointing out the fact that I was creating new blogs when I should have been adding posts. I initially thought that posts were for users to add comments.

I appreciate your point that it is important to let the reader know about the person who is blogging and not just the company as the escense of blogging is personal and informal.

Your initial impression of my refence to our MySpace profile as targetting younger candidates and call centre personnel was interesting. We do have a Commercial division that targets call centre workers but we also place high salary Construction candidates etc. It is difficult to know exactly where social networking fits into the business World but I think reference to it will create intrigue from non-myspace customer segments rather than disapproval. At least that's what I hope...

Chris

No problem with taking a while Chris, I do know how these things go. Just glad some of it was helpful. It takes a while to understand the social media tools, esp when we are using them for business.

You might try Wordpress.com. It's still free and easy, but has more professional look to my eye.

The use of the social media tools varies dramatically around the world, so your use may work very well in your area.

I just recently started the 31 Day Challenge and I've been stuck for two weeks on the Reader Audit because I can't seem to find time to have my husband or a friend look at the site. So, I would really love to have someone review my site.

I haven't done a lot to it, so I'm sure it needs a lot of work, but I would love to know what is working and what needs the most improvement. You can check it out at:
