WE'RE BUILDING BETTER BLOGS

We are a community of bloggers committed to working together to improve the quality of our blogs and the blogging experience.

Membership is open and we invite you to join. We'll be discussing blogging best practices and providing weekly challenges to help us continue to grow as bloggers.

Our members have a range of experiences and we particularly welcome those who are new to blogging or thinking about starting a blog.

We live by the mottoes, "There are no dumb questions" and "We can all learn from each other."

GETTING STARTED

If you're new to Ning, BBB community member Sue Waters has created an intro page that will answer some questions.

NEW AT BUILDING A BETTER BLOG

WHERE ARE YOU AT IN YOUR BLOG'S DEVELOPMENT?
Skelliewag had an interesting article on the different strategies to take in building your blog depending on whether you're at the Chrysalis (less than 500 readers) or the Butterfly stage. I started up a forum to get your thoughts on where you're at and what you think of her ideas.

BLOG REVIEWS?
A couple of BBB members are looking for people to review their blogs and provide them with feedback. Christine Martell has been kind enough to do some screencasts for people, but I know that everyone would like more advice/feedback if you can stop by and take a look. Also, to make it easier for people who want reviews to connect with those who are willing to do blog audits, I've set up a forum specifically for that purpose. Hopefully that will help us make more "love connections."

ANYONE UP FOR A POSTING CHALLENGE?
I'm planning for another blogging challenge--this time I'm structuring research on a project that's based on using different blog posting formats. I'd love to have people join me. You can learn more in the forum, where you can also let me know if you want to participate.

HELP FOR THE 31 DAY CHALLENGE BLOGGERS
The BBB Bloggers who are currently participating in the 31 Day Challenge have set up a forum to discuss questions, problems and challenges to the process. Feel free to stop by and share your wisdom and/or related angst.

How to Buy Foreclosure Homes

If you have ever wondered how to buy foreclosure homes, you might be surprised at how easy and how much fun it is. Most people who are in the market to buy a home don't know how to do it, so they don't even look any further into it. Their loss is your gain. When you learn how to acquire them you will be a step ahead of all of the other home buyers in your area who don't know how and therefore won't be bidding on them against you.
There are books in the library on how to buy it that you can check… Continue

Things to Check before Renting your Property

The most important thing for a landlord to do is to create a rental application. This application is simply made to help weed out bad tenants that may skip payments or damage the property during their stay. This form should ask for all the information needed to do a background check, figure out if they have the ability to keep up with payments, and information that could help track them down if they skip town to avoid paying you. Once you've made a residential lease agreement and a rental applic… Continue

Decorating Your Home

Home is a place where every one seeks for a comfort level after a long busy and scheduled day if you are not permanently staying at your home. In most of the cases we go for hiring of an interior decorator for our home but in my opinion this job should be done by yourself as you are well aware of what matches your comfort level.

Take that freshness from your house and start by thorough clean up. This technique is sure a simple method yet when used, your house will take a new sight again. Also,… Continue

Checklist for First Time Home Buyers

As a first time home-buyer there are a lot of things that can overwhelm you other than just finding the right home. You need to make sure you are following the necessary steps in the logical, desired order. You obviously need to determine where you want to live and when and then allow enough time to accomplish this.
Most first time property buyers only have limited amount of money in their sayings. They normally think they can afford to buy a house with that saving without realizing the existenc… Continue
